What I think of the Wii
When it comes down to it, the Wii is a very small gaming system at the size of approximately three DVD cases stacked side by side. Additionally, the Wii’s design is sleek enough to ensure that it will not get in the way of any other systems or electronic devices that you may be storing in the same area. When you combine this is a wireless remote, it is easy to see why the Wii is selling at such a high pace.
The Wii remote control does not look any different than one that you would use for a television. You should also know that you can connect up to four Wii remotes at once via Bluetooth technology. As you can see, Nintendo pulled out all of the stops when designing this gaming system. The wireless signal of the remote can reach up to 10 meters, so if you have a large screen this can be quite useful.
There are other features to go along with the remote. They include a speaker, a rumble feature to bring you into the action, and an expansion port. Of course, the Wii remote also features a power switch, 1 and 2, home, minus, A and B buttons, and a plus pad.
The Wii gaming system also offers a self loading media bay that is capable of playing both single and double layered optical discs, and also smaller GameCube discs.
Believe it or not, the Wii can connect to the internet even if the unit is not power on. This is made possible by the top of the line WiiConnect 24 service. Connecting wirelessly is done via an IEEE 802.11b/g, or USB 2.0 LAN adaptor.
One of the nicest features of the Wii is the virtual console. This gives users the ability to download games from past systems such as Super Nintendo, the original Nintendo, and Nintendo 64. This alone is reason enough to consider the Wii when shopping for a new gaming system.
As far as technical specifications are concerned you do not need to know much. But if this is of interest to you, learning the details should not be too hard. The Wii comes equipped with 512 megabytes of flash memory, a built in Wi-Fi, and two USB ports. A memory card bay also allows users to expand their available memory.
As you can see, the Nintendo Wii has quite a bit to offer. This is one of the best gaming systems on the market, and this is sure to hold true for the foreseeable future.
